In 2007 Beth Sholom Synagogue was designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Parks Service and the Secretary of the Interior. This distinction makes it one of four synagogues nationwide to be considered a national treasure.
This synagogue was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and was the only synagogue ever designed by him and it was the last project that he completed before his death. The synagogue is a building rich in Jewish symbolism –and although designed by Mr. Wright, he was guided in his work by the advice of Rabbi Mortimer J. Cohen who sought to embody significant Jewish values in its design and construction.
Jamison Masonry Restoration was hired to recaulk the metal to glass panels on the entire roof, as well as coat and waterproof the entrance steps and lower masonry walls.
